DO Olyeko Foundation aims at reconciling economically struggling families in Nebbi District

There was jubilation and excitement as DO Olyeko Foundation opened its doors to the public at Pulum Village in Acana Sub County, Nebbi District recently.

The foundation founder Mr. Olyeko Denis Oryema is a born of the area and wants to change the lives of his homeland people.

Olyeko says one of the aims of his foundation is to reconcile broken families.

Through his foundation, he has reached out to the families that have been broken due to economic hardships.

He provides fees and scholastic materials to the affected families and reunites the man and woman.

On top of that the foundation contributes some business starting capital for the affected families to set up a family business.

Thousands of people gathered at the launch and welcomed their son of the soil.

The foundation on top of the above is also working tirelessly to stop teenage pregnancy, child labour, forced marriages, school dropouts and many other similar vices that are rampant in the area.

DO Olyeko Foundation has been doing reach outs in Nebbi for over a year but was made formal this year.

The Foundation is also working hard on setting up a skilling and Innovation centre in the area to be able to train the youth on skills that would make youth job makers not seekers. The foundation is also providing blankets and beddings to avert usage of papyrus trees as beddings and this will also work as a remedy of preventing pneumonia among children.
